The Doberman, also known as the Doberman Pinscher, is a medium-to-large breed of domestic dog that originated in Germany in the late 19th century. It was developed by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, a tax collector who sought a loyal, intelligent, and protective dog to accompany him on his rounds.

Dobermans are known for their sleek, muscular build, athleticism, and elegant appearance. They typically have a short, smooth coat that comes in various colors, including black, red, blue, and fawn, often with rust-colored markings. Their ears are traditionally cropped, and tails docked, though many are now kept in their natural state.
