WHY IS KONA COFFEE SO SPECIAL?

Why kona coffee special

Above Kailu-Kona, along the foothills of Hualalai and Mauna Loa volcanoes on the Big Island of Hawaii is a corridor where rich volcanic soil, morning sun, midday shade, and afternoon showers naturally come together daily in perfect proportions to produce one of the most unique coffee crops in the world called Kona Coffee. We are located at 1500 ft. in the heart of Kona’s historic coffee district, Holualoa, where we grow, process, dry, and grade each bean ourselves to ensure the best tasting coffee experience.

Kona Coffee is known for its rich aroma, smooth, well-balanced flavor, and sweet aftertaste. It is one of the most expensive coffees in the world due its limited and unique microclimate, and the labor intensive practices of hand picking and processing in small batches. The majority of Kona coffee is grown on small family owned farms instead of large, industrial plantations. There are about 800 farms in the Kona Coffee Belt/District, which is 30 miles long and 2 miles wide, and the average farm is 3-10 acres each. It is a rare and delicious treat to taste and enjoy 100% Kona coffee.
