Betty Compton, 94, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
Betty was born October 13, 1928 in Lawrence County, KY to the late Andrew and Mary (Crace) Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Shannon Compton; son Michael Shannon Compton; and brothers Winford Moore, Vinson “Dee” Moore, and Paul Moore.
Betty retired as a Teacher’s Aide from the Lawrence County Board of Education. She was a member of Smokey Valley Church and was known for her strong faith in Jesus. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She also loved her cat “Kitty”.
Survivors include her granddaughter Julia LeeAnn (Tyler) Kitts; great grandchildren Brooklyn Paige Kitts and Robert Michael Kitts; sisters Janice Sue Cobb and Ruth Ann Miller; and many special friends and neighbors, including Glen and Vicki.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Doug Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM until time of service in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
