Billy Harold Griffith is now walking with the Lord! He was born July 9, 1934 in Lawrence County, Kentucky to the late Allen and Mollie (Cantrell) Griffith. He passed Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Mount Carmel Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife Delores Ann Griffith; brother Beecher Griffith; and sisters Tera Evans and Marie Kelly.
Billy served his country in the US Army, enlisting right out of high school. He had many stories he loved to tell about his experiences, but his favorite on was how happy he was to get back home. He retired from the City of Upper Arlington.
Billy is survived by his wife Esther Gaye (McKenzie) Griffith; son Rodney (Sally) Griffith of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; daughter Beverly (Matt) Perrill of Ashville, Ohio; grandson Brennan Perrill of Ashville, Ohio; granddaughter Kaitlynn Albright of Stafford, Virginia; and great grandsons Bennett and Elijah Albright of Staffordsville, Virginia.
As a young boy, Billy enjoyed hunting with his dad and getting his big brother Beecher in trouble. He will be remembered for his love of God, country, family, and caring for his little place on Earth. When he wasn’t mowing, trimming, mulching, or blowing leaves, he enjoyed spending time with his wife watching old westerns and Big Time Wrestling.
Billy spent many hours a day reading his Bible. That was how he loved to start the day. He was a member of Hilco Fellowship Church in Columbus, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the church in his memory.
