Ellen M. Maynard
1929 – 2016
Ellen M. Maynard, 86 of Louisa passed away at home on Thursday, March 10, 2016.
She was born on March 14, 1929 in Mayflower, Kentucky to the late Luther and Lokie Smith-Straton.
Mrs. Maynard was a member of the Church of Christ as worked as a housekeeper for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband B.W. Maynard on May 8, 1998. Also preceeding her in death are two children Audrey Maynard and Betty Lou Maynard; two brothers Charles Stratton and Larry Stratton as well as four grandchildren.
Left behind to cherish her memory is a loving family including one son Donnie Maynard (Mary Ann) of Independence, Ky.; five daughters Bonnie Douglas of Fallsburg, Ky., Fonnie Elliott (Allen) of Verona, Ky., Ruth Fissler (Steve) of Fallsburg, Ky., Mildred Newsome (Frank) of Jackson, Ky., Melinda Christian (Clayton) of Fallsburg, Ky.; four siblings Alice, King, Geneva Moore, Gerldine Abert and Clarence Stratton; 26 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren with 2 more on the way as well as many extended friends and family all of whom will miss her dearly.
Funeral Services will be held at Young Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10 am with Bro. Charlie Martin officiating, burial will follow at Maynard Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6-9 pm at Young Funeral Home Chapel.
