Lawrence Co. Head Coach Chandler Thompson

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Man, this was a huge weekend for us, play Betsy Layne in huge seeded District game and take them to overtime and pull it off and then get up and have Hoops league early Saturday morning and then a quick turnaround and come down here and play another game. Honestly I was worried about it. Our guys got down and continued to battle and weren’t accepting anything but winning and gutted out the win. Super proud of them to get two wins this weekend.”

“… You play a team like Raceland and obviously we aren’t the biggest team in Eastern Kentucky and they had a big guy and you try to go zone to take him away and then they hit 5 or 6 three pointers in the first half and you go man and they dump it inside to him. It was a double edged sword and we just tried to survive. Thankfully, they cooled off and we were to hit some shots in the second half just like we did against Betsy Layne on Friday night. I would rather hit shots all the way through the game but we had some guys step up in key moments and hit some big shots.”

“… Luke Fetherolf hit some big free throws in overtime versus Betsy Layne and then comes out tonight and scores 23 points with some big threes is huge for him and for us. He doesn’t have much varsity experience and is really starting to settle in to the speed of the game and has been a huge asset to what we are doing. Proud of him and sure glad he is on my team.”

“… Coach Anderson and I have a history together and a great relationship and he has been coaching 100 years or so ( HA ) and as long as he will have us we will be a part of the shootout and to come down here and get a win makes it even more special.”
