James “Elmer” Slone
1925 – 2016
James “Elmer” Slone 90 of Huntington, WV formerly of Route 1 Mill Creek Fort Gay, WV went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 24, 2016 at the VA Medical Center.
Elmer was born June 13, 1925 at Radnor, WV the son of the late Lewis Franklin and Belva Pratt Slone. He was a disabled veteran serving in World War II as a Yeoman Third Class in the United States Navy and of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years Fern Sword Slone, a son and daughter-in-law Terry and Jeannie Slone of Chesapeake, OH; two grandsons Ryan Slone and wife Katie of Denver, CO and Adam Slone and wife Micaela of Huntington, WV; a granddaughter Terri Dawn Becker of Columbus, OH; two great grandchildren Zack Becker and Slade Becker; four half-sisters Bernice, Delores, Freda, and Peggy.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 29 at 2:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Bailey and Rev. Johnny Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Pratt Cemetery on Hampton Ridge Radnor, WV.
Friends may visit the family from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm Monday March 28 at Wilson Funeral Home.
