Laura Jane Jones Moore, aged 86, of Louisa, passed away on December 25, 2023, at peace and surrounded by those who loved her in her home at the Mouth of Newcomb Branch in Lawrence County, Kentucky.
She and her family lived in several locations around the country over the years and she was always active in her local church home, as well as volunteering for service organizations such as the Red Cross. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Fred Moore, her parents James Edward Jones, Jr. and Louvada Skeens Jones and her brother, Wayne Allen Jones. Laura is survived by daughter Paula Ilene Martin and husband Greg of Lakeside Park, Kentucky; son Eric J. Moore of the home; grandson Ethan Moore Martin and wife Marie of New Port Richey, Florida; sisters Clara Ann Elkins of Huntington, West Virginia, Mary Lynn Hogsten of Flatwoods, Kentucky, Sandra Kay Larson of Manistee, Michigan, and sister-in-law Elsie Jones of Louisa, Kentucky.
Visitation will be at Young Funeral Home on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted in the Young Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM, followed by burial in Harmon Cemetery.
